Summary

The site of three World War Two earthen-covered air raid shelters is visible on aerial photographs on The Crescent off Taverham Road, Drayton. These shelters are quite large and were presumably for the residents in the area, as none of the houses appear to have individual shelters in the backyards. Although the close proximity to Drayton Railway station could also indicate that these shelters were used by railway workers.
