Map

July 2010. Norfolk NMP.
In the area to the west of Bluebell Road, Norwich, a network of anti-landing trenches (also known as anti-glider ditches), centred at TG 1985 0811, is visible (S1)-(S4), along with several pits which appear to be dug at intervals within the network of parallel ditches.
The ditches are arranged in parallel lines running east-west, approximately 200m apart, with pits between them, forming intersecting lines which sub-divide the field into squares. Sections of bank could clearly be seen around some of the pits on aerial photographs (S1)-(S2), and it is possible that one or more of these pits could in fact be bomb craters.
E. Bales (NMP), 20 July 2010.
