Map

July 2010. Norfolk NMP.
Undated or possible prehistoric and Roman ditches are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1-S3) on land to the south of Dereham Road, Norwich.
These cropmarks are centred on TG 1747 1002. It is possible that the two parallel northern-most ditches, running east west from TG 1750 1006 to TG 1689 1002, roughly 11m apart, relate to the Roman road recorded as NHER 15768. To the south, two further ditches are visible running diagonally across the field, along with a number of possible pits which may relate to geological rather than archaeological features. However, it is possible that these northwest-south east ditches are prehistoric in date, given the presence of the Bronze Age ring ditch (NHER 11431) to the south west.
E. Bales (NMP), 20 July 2010.

October 2017. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed development site.
This work identified several ditches, one of which may correspond with the north-north-east to south-south-west aligned cropmark at TG 1727 0996. This feature produced a single sherd of indeterminate prehistoric pottery.
See report (S5) and NHER 63086 for further details.
