Map

July 2010. Norfolk NMP.
Several linear banks and ditches are visible as cropmarks and earthworks on aerial photographs (S1-S2), on land within the area described as Bowthorpe deserted medieval village and ruins of St Michael's Church (NHER 5352).
They are centred on TG 1780 0903.
Several earthwork banks were visible centred on TG 1766 0908, although these may relate to a post medieval cottage which was present in the area until 1945 (S3).
Linear ditches are visible in the field centred TG 1791 0903, although these largely correspond with the alignment of tracks and field boundaries on the Ordnance Survey second edition map, and may be post medieval. However, it is also possible that some or all of these features may indicate the remains of Bowthorpe deserted medieval village in the area.
E. Bales (NMP), 20 July 2010.
