Full Description
June 2010. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of fragmentary ditches and former field boundaries are visible on aerial photographs to the east of Alderford Common, Swannington (S1-S3). The site is centred on TG 1325 1810. The site consists of fragmentary ditches and former field boundaries of more than one phase, some of which could feasibly be Roman in date, see NHER 7712 for nearby Roman date finds. Additional possible cropmarks of ditches were visible within the northern part of the site on Google Earth (S3), but were not mapped due to limited available time.
S. Horlock (NMP), 25 June 2010.
