Summary

Cropmarks which may be of prehistoric (Neolithic/Bronze Age) date are visible in Google Early aerial photography. These include many linear features and field systems, some enclosures, a possible ring-ditch and a possible long barrow or ovoid enclosure.

November 2010. Aerial photograph interpretation.
A possible prehistoric field system which includes a number of linear ditch features that could be field boundaries. There are also some enclosures and a possible ring-ditch, long barrow and ovoid enclosure. It’s possible that these features may date to the Neolithic/Bronze Age.

31 October - 1 November 2011. Evaluation.
Excavation in the extreme northeast of this site recorded very few archaeological features. One possible Prehistoric ditch was identified but could not be securely dated. Three post medieval pits were also recorded, while two other pits remain undated.
