Summary

The site of possible earthwork boundaries and enclosures of uncertain significance and date are visible on aerial photographs to the east of Honingham Thorpe Farm, Honingham. The traces of low earthworks would appear to be visible from aerial photographs dating to the 1980-1990s, seemingly indicating the presence of enclosures and boundaries. However no convincing trace of these features could be identified in February 1946) – an aerial photographic run where earthworks are normally showing well. Consequently none of the earthworks were mapped due to the possibility that these features are twentieth century in date and may be the result of agricultural activity and stock and vehicle movement within the field.

The site of possible earthwork boundaries and enclosures of uncertain significance and date are visible on aerial photographs to the east of Honingham Thorpe Farm, Honingham (S1-S3). The site is centred on TG 1100 0999. The traces of low earthworks would appear to be visible from aerial photographs dating to the 1980-1990s (S1-S3), seemingly indicating the presence of enclosures and boundaries. However no convincing trace of these features could be identified in February 1946 (S4) – an aerial photographic run where earthworks are normally showing well. Consequently none of the earthworks were mapped due to the possibility that these features are twentieth century in date and may be the result of agricultural activity and stock and vehicle movement within the field. However it is also possible that the earthworks are medieval to post medieval in date and are not visible in February 1946 due to localised conditions obscuring them within this field at this date.
