Full Description
October 2010. Norfolk NMP.
A possible pit feature is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs, through tree cover in Jubilee Wood, Thetford.
It is centred on TL 8551 8739, and measures approximately 32m in diameter. It is likely to represent post medieval extraction of some form, as there are many other extraction pits in the vicinity, but these are largely depicted on the 1st edition Ordnance survey map of the area (S2), and subsequent maps; however this feature does not appear on the available map sources, therefore it has been mapped in order to record its location.
E. Bales (NMP), 18 Oct 2010.
