1980s or before.
At some time, most likely during the 1980, a Roman copper alloy knife handle depicting an erotic scene was seen for sale in [1]. See photograph (S2).
This object was from Norfolk and according to a note by T. Gregory (NCM) had possibly been found at Brettenham. The composition of the scheme (which depicts two adults, one of which is seated on the back of a dwarf) is very similar to that on the handle of a Roman folding knife recently found in Hampshire (PAS ID HAMP-4D3135).
P. Watkins (HES), 6 November 2015.
