Map

November 2010. Norfolk NMP.
Earthworks of undated linear ditches, a fragment of a possible medieval to post medieval stock enclosure, are visible on aerial photographs (S1) on land within Bridgham Heath.
The ditches run from TL 9231 8737 to TL 9201 8707, and have been recorded due to the fact that they appear different in character to the numerous later trackways visible running across the heath, which have not been mapped. They are not visible on the available historic maps, and are similar in appearance to the earthworks of a possible stock enclosure visible 1.2km to the southeast (NHER 34947), which is visible on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey map, and has therefore not been mapped. The rectification of the photographs was not perfect, and therefore the position of these ditch features may be slightly inaccurate.
E. Bales (NMP), 17 Nov 2010.
