Summary

Metal-detecting between 2010 and 2011 recovered Mesolithic, Mesolithic/Early Neolithic and undatable worked flints; Roman, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; a post-medieval jetton and a range of other metal objects. The metal objects include a Late Bronze Age socketed axehead; Roman brooches, seal-box lid, hairpin, vessel fragments and beads; Early Saxon brooch fragments; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; medieval sword pommel, furniture fitting and lead weights; a medieval/post-medieval knife end cap, copper alloy vessel fragment, padlock case, lead spindle whorls and coin weight; and post-medieval crotal bells, Jew's harp lead weights, and lead cloth seal.
