Full Description
December 2010. Norfolk NMP.
A possible earthwork bank is visible on aerial photographs (S1) to the east of Croxton Road, Croxton. It is visible running for at least approximately 116m from TL 8750 8481 to TL 8762 8483, and measures between 2.8 and 7.5m in width. It is only visible clearly on one set of aerial photographs (S1), and is possible that it represents a natural topographic rather than archaeological feature, and should therefore be viewed with a note of caution. It is also faintly visible on a second set of photographs (S2), along with two further possible linear cropmarks, which have not been mapped as they are less convincing.
E. Bales (NMP), 14 Dec 2010.
5-7 December 2011. Evaluation.
Excavation near the southern end of the earthwork bank revealed no evidence of this feature.
See NHER 58209 for further details.
H. Hamilton (HES), 30 October 2012.
