Map

December 2010. Norfolk NMP.
An area of possible World War Two practice trenches is visible on aerial photographs (S1-S4) to the west of Bury Road, Thetford. They are centred on TL 8679 8219.The trenches are visible as a series of linear ditches and upcast spoil. It is possible that they are not military in function, although their proximity to the underground storage site (NHER 54545) to the east and further practice trenches to the south (NHER 54544), suggests that they did perform a military function.
E. Bales (NMP), 15 December 2010.
