Full Description
December 2010. Norfolk NMP.
A linear bank is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs (S1) on Barnham Cross common to the west of Bury Road. The bank is centred on TL 8647 8135, and measures 56m in length and 5m in width. However it is only visible on one set of aerial photographs and has been recorded with a note of caution. It appears to be an earlier continuation of the track visible to the southwest.
E. Bales (NMP), 20 December 2010.
December 2011. Field visit.
The bank survives as earthworks. Its location was recorded using a hand-held GPS unit.
As the bank extends further west than visible on aerial photographs, the extent of the mapping has been increased.
D. Robertson (HES), 18 May 2012.
