Summary

In October 2010 an archaeological evaluation revealed a gully, post-hole, possible beam slot/gully and shallow pit of possible post-medieval date. A fence line and pit/tree throw of 19th to 20th century date were also observed. A worn Roman coin and stray sherds of Roman and medieval pottery were recovered from the topsoil.

Evaluation of proposed development site.
A gully, post-hole, possible beam slot/gully and shallow pit of possible post-medieval date. A fence line not shown on any historic maps possibly representing a plot sub-division and a pit/tree throw of 19th to 20th century date were also observed. Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age waste and retouched flakes, a worn Roman coin and stray sherds of Roman and medieval pottery were recovered from the topsoil.
