Summary

In August 2010 an archaeological evaluation revealed a relatively modern pit containing broken and whole bottles, ironwork and occasional pieces of building material possibly dating to the 1930's. Two sherds of medieval green glaze pottery were recovered from the topsoil.

Evaluation of proposed development site.
The excavation revealed a relatively modern pit containing broken and whole bottles, ironwork and occasional pieces of building material possibly dating to the 1930's. Two sherds of medieval green glaze pottery (11th - mid-13th century) were recovered from the topsoil, which are likely to have derived from potteries at Grimston.
