Summary

A geophysical survey of land to the east of Norwich Road, Cromer, in 2010 revealed anomalies of interest, including linear and discreet features thought to represent ditches and pits. However, these features were demonstrated to be natural features upon excavation of trial trenches in 2011.

Full Description

August-September 2010. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometry survey of proposed development site.
The survey revealed a number of anomalies that may be pits and ditches of archaeological origin.
See report (S1) for further details.

November 2011. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed development site.
No archaeological finds or features were observed. The anomalies detected in the geophysical survey were confirmed to be natural.
