The mill is referenced in White's Directory from 1836 (S1) as a corn mill and later for 'artificial manure'. In the early 20th century the buildings were the offices of as estate and insurance agency. Around the time of the survey (1986) the site was planned for re-development and has been partially demolished and turned to housing.
