Map

Built in 1934 to replace the older (1880) station to the south. 2 pump houses and 2 sluices spanning the drain. Built from concrete and steel with slate roofing. Originally driven by diesel engines, additional engines added in the 1950s and electric motors in the 1970s increase the pumping capacity. During heavy rain in 1998 all four pumps ran for 75 hours straight. Plans in 2004 to build a newer, £40 million station to replace this one.
