Map

April 2011. Norfolk NMP.
A large ring ditch is visible on aerial photographs to the east of Cantley Farm, Keswick and Intwood.
It is centred on TG 1848 0462, and measures between 23 and 25m internally, 27 to 28m externally. However, it is only visible on one set of photographs, and whilst it seems plausible as archaeology, had not been previously numbered as a site. The photographs have a lack of control points and were therefore extremely difficult to rectify, and due to the fact that they are taken at a very oblique angle the ring ditch has been distorted to appear more oval than round in the mapping, when in fact on the ground it appears to be more circular.
Linear features to the north, especially that with a corner at TG 1850 0468 are also possibly archaeological, but it is difficult to be certain of their origin as there are also many geological features showing in the field, including a large number of pit-like features which are thought to be geological in nature.
E. Bales (NMP), 14 April 2011.
