Summary

Metal-detecting between 2012 and 2015 recovered a small medieval coin hoard. This hoard comprises seven short cross pennies of Richard I and John and was probably deposited during the 1220s or 1230s.

1 medieval coin. Short cross penny of John dating to 1205-1207 AD. Subsequently recognised to be part of a small coin hoard (see below).

Found in very small area:
Medieval coin hoard comprising 6 short cross pennies of Richard I and John dating to between 1194 and 1215. An additional coin found in 2012-2013 is also now recognised to be part of this hoard. The date of the coins and the amount of wear suggests the hoard was deposited during the 1220s or 1230s.

This hoard was disclaimed as Treasure (Ref: 2017 T566) and returned to the finder.
