Summary

A Bronze Age round barrow is marked on a map compiled in about 1850. It survives and is covered in dense vegetation. It is also visible on 1946 RAF aerial photographs and on 1969 Ordnance Survey aerial photographs.

Bowl barrow, about 30m diameter, about 1.1m high, difficult to be precise due to dense cover of rhododendrons in wood.

Area cleared. Mound as 1976 entry with tall thin oaks on mound. Rhododendrons regenerating.

Situated in Taylor's Wood, at present under cover of scrub. This renders site difficult to recognise. However, a grant aided woodland management scheme is currently being undertaken with no replanting on the mound itself.

October 2002. Norfolk NMP.
Earthworks of round barrow, visible on the 1946 RAF aerial photographs (S5) and Ordnance Survey aerial photographs from 1969 (S6). The diameter of the mound is appears to be around 25m. These dimensions are slighter smaller than previous dimensions given. However the exact dimensions are hard to discern from the air, due to the surrounding vegetation.
