Full Description
March 2011. Walkover Survey.
Archaeological Earthwork Rapid Identification Survey. Houghen Plantation.
Sites 4 and 5:
Two extraction pits one approximately 22m in diameter and up to 2m deep and the other 27m in diameter and up to 3m deep with an access ramp to the north-west. It is possible that these pits pre-date the enclosure of this area (before 1780).
See report (S1) for further details.
