Map

Great Hautbois House was built as the rectory for the combined Coltishall and Hautbois parishes around 1860. The house was extended in 1906, probably when the water pumping system was installed. The house was donated to the East Anglia Girl Guides in 1984. The pumping house equipment is housed in a small extension to the north of the house. The pair or ram pumps sit above the house's well and were used to draw water up from it. The pumps were powered by an Amanco gas engine.
