Gaymer's Cider was made here from around the 1920s. This facility was abandoned after the company was bought out by Babycham. The factory was re-occupied by Banham Poultry after their first factory burned down. The transfer took 3 years from 1995 to 1998. Surprisingly, according to B.P.'s director in the E.D.P. the cider facility was readily convertible from cider making to poultry processing, and much of the generic machinery, such as the water distillery system, could be kept and repurposed. Since 1998 many of the older brick buildings, including the chimney stack, have been demolished and replaced by steel framed warehouse buildings.
