In 1938 a single dome-oven bakery was built here. Consisting of a brick house with asbestos roofing and steel framed windows. The oven was a brick dome with sand and concrete lining. It was capable of producing up to 224 2lb loaves in a day and burned 152 kg of coal a day. The plot of land is now known as "Loafers" and the name of the house built on the site is "The Bakery".
