Summary

Beck College used the buildings of the Pied Friars, situated on the northeast corner of St Peter per Mountergate churchyard. The friary was founded around 1253, and dissolved in 1307, after which the buildings were maintained as a college for St Peter's chantry and the Norwich house of Hospital of Beck, Billingford.

This used buildings of Pied Friars on north-east corner of St Peter per Mountergate churchyard. Friary founded around 1253 dissolved 1307. After which maintained as college for St Peter's chantry and Norwich house of Hospital of Beck, Billingford near E Dereham. They used the church of St Peter as their church, as Blomefield describes.
R. R. Clarke gives refs (S1), (S2) and (S3), also Hudson, St Peter Mountergate (not checked), and Kett; 207 and 337.

The site as marked on NHER may not be correct. The medieval masonry revealed in NHER 26317 has been suggested as the remains of this house, see in file for that number.
