Map

Built in the early 1800s, it was noted in The London Gazette for changes in management early on. The Crown Brewery came under the stewardship of Young's, Crawshay & Young's in 1814 and since has included at least on of those family names in the directorship. In 1897 the brewery became a limited company. Later on the company branched out into wine and spirit trading, although not producing. After 1900, the business branched out again into buying public houses to sell specifically their products. The buildings are visible on 1946 RAF aerial photographs.
