The former Gresham National School was built in 1856 or possibly 1847 with enlargement in 1873. The building is constructed from brick with a flint extension to the rear in a plain style with some denticulated cornice work on the school and house front. Following the closure of the school in 1897 the Gresham Reading and Recreation Club held meeting in the 'Old Schoolroom'. The building was used as a Post Office shown on the 1971 ordnance survey map which closed in 1988. The building has since been converted into two dwellings and the owner believes it may have originally been an L-shaped building.
