Map

An extensive photographic record was compiled by NIAS in 2007 before the buildings demolition. These photographs show a brick building with a part pantile, part slate and part corrugated metal roof. The kiln 'pyramid' however was mostly intact. Many windows were smashed and there were large holes in the roof. The interior of the building was gutted at the time of the survey, but the whitewashed walls and debris suggest that it was used as a workshop in recent years. The difference it the plans of the building on these maps and difference in the pitch of the roof on photographs suggest that the building was extended into the courtyard at some point between 1840 and 1888.
