Full Description
September 2007. Structural Assessment.
Inspection of barns at Manor Farm, prior to their proposed conversion to residential dwellings.
Four barns forming part of the Manor Farm complex including the grade II listed farmhouse (NHER 44287). The barns are likely to date to the late 18th century/mid 19th century and are constructed from brick and flint with red pantile roofs. The largest barn is the former threshing barn and probably dates from the late 18th century. The former cartshed and granary has six open pays with a central doorway and stairs leading to the granary loft but no other internal fixtures and fittings survive. The L-shaped barn has attached stables and has been significantly altered over the years. The long single storey stable block abutting the earlier threshing barn reflects Model Farm architecture with its lunette windows to the south.
