Summary

In February 2011 a programme of building recording was undertaken ahead of proposals to convert the barn into a domestic dwelling. The barn probably dates from the late 17th to early 18th century and with refurbishment in the 19th century when the west wall was replaced below tie-beam level with clay lump blocks.

Level 2 survey of barn prior to its proposed conversion.
The barn to the north-east of The Chestnuts probably dates from the late 17th to early 18th century and would have originally been thatched. The barn was refurbished in the 19th century when the west wall was replaced below tie-beam level with clay lump blocks. In 2011 an application to convert the building into a residential dwelling was made to South Norfolk District Council.
