Full Description
Before 1929. Top of hill.
Two sherds ?Iron Age pottery.
R.R. Clarke.
1951. Muckleburgh Hill.
2nd brass of Hostilianus 250/1.
R.R. Clarke (NCM).
1929. Summit of Muckleburgh Hill, 200' OD.
Coarse gritty grey-brown and red Roman sherds probably 2nd century.
'In modern pit'.

Three Roman sherds.
J.E. Sainty previously found sherds ('in excavating') which K.G. Wright called 1st century.

1994. Found on exposed face at northeast side of hill.
Several flint gritted Iron Age sherds.
2nd/3rd century Roman sherds.
Two developed rim medieval sherds.

October 2003. Norfolk NMP.
No definite traces of pits relating to this site were mapped during the NMP. Pits were mapped within the general vicinity (NHER 38360, 38365 and 38369) although these all appeared to be military in origin.
