Map

One of two surviving milestones along the Trowse towards Surlingham road, marking Norwich 2 miles, Bramerton 2 miles and Rockland 3 1/2 miles. Both of these milestones are the same type, square stone pillars with the inscription in Sans Serif lettering parallel to the road, indicating that they were set up at the same time by the same authority, more than likely Norfolk County Council.

The inscription on this milestone reads "TO/NORWICH/2 MILES/BRAMERTON/2 MILES/ROCKLAND/3 1/2 MILES/PARISH/OF/TROWSE NEWTON".

(S1) gives information regarding both of these milestones.
