Full Description
One of 7 surviving milestones along the former Stoke Ferry turnpike, which was created in 1770 and ran from Stoke Ferry to Methwold and Cranwich, with branches also serving the estates of Barton, Oxborough and Cockley Cley. It was extended in 1791 to include Hockwold.
These milestones are square stone pillars set cornerwise to the road, with the inscriptions in contiguous inset panels on the two front faces.
