Full Description
This milestone is one of the series along the Norwich to Watton turnpike. This turnpike ran along the city wall from St Stephen's Gate to St Giles' Gate in Norwich, and then to the Windmill in Watton.
This is a wedge-shaped stone with the town written horizontally over the distance.
The inscription reads:
WATTON/15/MILES;
NORWICH/6/MILES.
