Full Description
A post-medieval milestone recorded by the Milestone Society and positioned along the King's Lynn to Stoke Ferry road. This is a gravestone-shaped milestone, with the inscription written inside an indented square on the front face.
The inscription reads:
FRONT: "LYNN 11/STOKE 3".
See (S1) for further information.
D. Holburn (HES), 20 April 2012.
2012. Repair work by the Milestone Society.
One of 60 milestones restored to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, see publication (S2).
Milestone Society members repaired this milestone by joining the two sections together with a lime mortar mix. This marker was then cleaned and painted before being re-set and a French drain was created.
Information from survey form (S3) and photographs (S4).
H. Mellor (HES), 29 May 2018.
