Full Description
June 2012. Norfolk NMP.
A possible World War Two searchlight battery is visible on aerial photographs on land to the east of Puddledock Farm, Old Buckenham. The site is centred on TM 0607 9241 and consists of a figure of eight bank in the centre, with a further two circular banks, one either side. A possible concrete structure is also visible at TM 0612 9238, and earthworks of a possible air raid shelter are visible at TM 0612 9239.
A further row of structures is visible in the field to the north, centred on TM 0605 9254; these may relate to military activity, such as a row of possible lighting for the airfield, or even a decoy site, but may equally relate to agricultural activity.
E. Bales (NMP), 7th June 2012.
