Summary

The site of possible earthworks of unknown date and archaeological significance is visible on aerial photographs to the south of Talconston Hall. A series of possible earthwork boundary banks and ditches were tentatively identified at this location, however the features have the appearance of recently used paths in January 1947 and were therefore not mapped, although it is possible that some earthworks exist at the site.

Map

March 2012. Norfolk NMP.
The site of possible earthworks of unknown date and archaeological significance is visible on aerial photographs (S1) to the south of Talconston Hall. The site is centred on TM 1386 9499. A series of possible earthwork boundary banks and ditches were tentatively identified at this location on (S1-S2). However on (S3) the features have the appearance of recently used paths and were therefore not mapped, although it is possible that some earthworks exist at the site. The presence of Roman date finds in this area (NHER 31826) may be of significance, but a medieval to post medieval date is most likely if any boundaries are located on the ground in the future.
