Full Description
July 2012. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of a possible Bronze Age ring ditch are visible on aerial photographs (S1) to the north of the River Wittle, Quidenham.
The site is centred on TM 0183 8805, and the possible ring ditch itself measures up to 65m in diameter.
The cropmarks of the ditch are showing as fragmentary cropmarks showing against the patterned ground of underlying geology.
There are also a number of ditch cropmarks visible to the north, some of which are depicted on the Tithe Map of the area (S2) and have not been mapped, others have been recorded as NHER 57383. A further possible ring ditch is visible approximately 450m to the south (NHER 57380).
E. Bales (NMP), 04 July 2012.
