Full Description
April 2012. Norfolk NMP.
A small group of fragmentary cropmarks of unknown, but possible Roman date, are visible on aerial photographs (S1) to the north of Wattlefield Hall (NHER 15590), Wymondham. The site is centred on TM 1112 9745. It must be noted that some of these cropmarks are of uncertain archaeological origin and could feasibly relate to underlying drainage. However these have been included within the mapping, in part due to the nearby presence of Roman surface material (NHER 9925 & 12313). See NHER 64709 for discussion of similarly aligned earthwork ditch within the parkland to the south.
S. Horlock (NMP), 12 April 2012.
