Summary

The faint soilmarks of a broad bank-like feature, interpreted as a possible stretch of medieval to post medieval road or trackway is visible on aerial photographs to the north of the medieval moated site of Fundenhall Manor (NHER 9950), Ashwellthorpe. The broad former bank or linear spread of compacted material may have acted as an access route to this major medieval and post medieval site to the south.

The faint soilmarks of a broad bank-like feature, interpreted as a possible stretch of medieval to post medieval road or trackway is visible on aerial photographs (S1) to the north of the medieval moated site of Fundenhall Manor (NHER 9950), Ashwellthorpe. The site is centred on TM 1498 9698. The broad former bank or linear spread of compacted material is up to 8m wide and may have acted as an access route to this major medieval and post medieval site to the south.
