Full Description
September 2012. Norfolk NMP.
Field boundaries and a trackway of probable medieval to post medieval date are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S5) in the vicinity of Crownthorpe Roman temple (NHER 54693, see also NHER 8897). The site is centred on TG 0894 0273 and consists of a number of linear ditches largely oriented east-west, with a possible trackway which is visible as a bank running from TG 0910 0264 to TG 0901 0236. Some of these ditches appear to cross possible Roman date boundaries which are oriented perpendicular to a Roman road (NHER 19725) and have been recorded separately (NHER 54694).
E. Ford (NMP), 26 September 2012.
