Summary

Two pits with similar characteristics were recorded during excavation of the Brisley to Bushy Common gas pipeline in 1999, one of which contained three sherds of handmade pottery tentatively assigned an Iron Age date, although it was stated that there is also a possibility that the pottery dates to the Anglo-Saxon period.
