Summary

Systematic fieldwalking by the Southrepps Society in 2012 recovered late prehistoric worked flints including flakes, scrapers, fragmentary blades and a bifacial core; Roman, Middle Saxon and medieval to post-medieval pottery sherds; medieval roof tile fragments; medieval/post-medieval lead glazed floor tile and fragments of 16th-century brick. Metal-detecting in 2016 recovered a medieval coin as well as a Roman brooch; a medieval buckle and finger ring and a post-medieval buckle.

Full Description

February-March 2012. Systematic fieldwalking. Southrepps Society Fieldwalking Project, Field BL1.
Late prehistoric worked flint including flakes, 3 scrapers, 3 fragmentary blades and a bifacial core.
1 Roman mortarium sherd.
2 Middle Saxon pottery sherds.
28 medieval pottery sherds and 2 roof tile fragments.
8 medieval/post-medieval pottery sherds, 4 lead glazed floor tile and 13 fragments of 16th-century brick.
275 post-medieval pottery sherds.
