Full Description
November 2012. Norfolk NMP.
Faint earthworks of a possible medieval to post medieval former revetment bank are visible on aerial photographs (S1) to the south of the River Thet, Snetterton.
The section of possible bank, approximately 12m in width, seems to have a possible entrance or opening in its north-western side, and forms a possible corner, with a small extension to the east, from TL 9937 0185. It is possible that it relates to some form of revetment or flood defence enclosure, given its location in the flood plain of the river. It would have enclosed an area of at least 80m in length by an indiscernible width.
The earthworks are only really visible on one set of photographs, and have therefore been recorded with a hint of caution.
