Map

November 2012. Norfolk NMP.
Earthworks of possible medieval to post medieval field boundaries are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2) on land to the east of Hockham Lodge, Shropham, and to the west, into Hockham. These earthworks are visible in close proximity to the previously recorded banked enclosure NHER 35456, however this feature has not been mapped since it is visible as a boundary depicted on the second edition Ordnance Survey Map.
The site is centred on TL 9793 9297, and consists of a number of linear earthwork ditches which appear likely to represent medieval to post medieval field boundaries. A series of more recently dug drainage ditches are visible in the field to the south west (centred on TL 9736 9263), but these have not been mapped as they are clearly more modern in appearance.
