Map

November 2012. Norfolk NMP.
Earthworks of possible medieval to post medieval field boundaries and/or drainage ditches are visible on aerial photographs on land to the west of Watton Road, Great Hockham.
The site is centred on TL 9512 9253 and consists of a number of linear banks and ditches which may represent medieval to post medieval field boundaries.
However, it is thought most likely that the majority of these features in fact relate to post medieval drainage ditches as they appear recently dug in appearance and run into drains depicted on the Ordnance Survey map.
A large circular pond is also visible centred on TL 9509 9258, but since this feature is depicted on the 2nd edition Ordnance Survey Map (S3) it has not been mapped.
E. Ford (NMP), 15 November 2012.
