Full Description
April 2012. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of groundworks for the extension of a car park recorded no archaeological finds or features.
It has been suggested that this area was marsh until relatively recent periods, and cropmarks visible in 1946-7 aerial photographs (S1) indicate the area of the school may have been a floated water meadow although no evidence for this was oberved.
See report (S2) for further details.
The associated archive has been deposited with the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2017.151).
H. Hamilton (HES), 19 November 2012. Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 18 May 2019.
