NHER 57469 (Cropmark and Earthwork record) - Cropmarks of possible field boundaries and possible mound

Cropmarks of linear ditches, which may represent undated possible field boundaries, are visible on aerial photographs (S1) on land to the west of Church Road, Shropham, along with a faint cropmark of a possible mound which may relate to NHER 9029, although this feature was felt likely to be of natural, not archaeological origin.
The site is centred on TL 9826 9315, and consists of a number of north-south linear ditches with at least one east-west ditch. It was difficult to discern the possible ditches, however, as they appear in a similar way to agricultural tramlines in places.
The possible mound is simply visible as a lighter patch of ground, centred on TL 9833 9306, measuring approximately 26m in diameter. It is possible that that corresponds with the previously recorded mound NHER 9029, and it seems unlikely to be archaeological in nature, however it has been mapped for comparison with the existing record.
It should also be noted that all these features are only visible on one set of photographs (S1) and have therefore been recorded with a hint of caution.
It should also be noted that the post medieval windmill mound NHER 9028, which was also previously thought to be a burial mound, was clearly visible on these photographs and has also been mapped.
